Every building is different. These photographs show how spray foam is actually used in attics, homes, shops, garages and commercial structures.

What a good installation looks like is worth knowing before you buy one, because most of it disappears behind drywall and is never seen again. Look for consistent thickness across the whole surface rather than thick in the middle and thin at the edges. Look at how the foam meets penetrations, top plates and the awkward junctions near the eaves, because those transitions are where a rushed job gives itself away. On a roof deck, look at whether the foam follows the framing continuously or stops short at every obstruction.

Coverage near the perimeter is the single most common shortcut in this trade. It is the hardest place to reach, it is out of sight from the attic hatch, and it is exactly where heat and air move most. A job that is excellent in the middle and thin at the edges will underperform, and from the hatch it will look finished.
